AI confidence for the second half of life
Meridian Learning is a trusted platform helping adults navigate artificial intelligence with confidence, clarity, and no fear of looking foolish.
The insight behind Meridian Learning
Most AI courses are built by technologists, for people who already feel comfortable with technology. That leaves out a vast group of accomplished, curious adults who feel locked out of a world that changed faster than anyone planned for.
When technology challenges our sense of competence, our brains go into protection mode. We avoid, dismiss, and tell ourselves we’re “just not tech people.” That’s not a personality trait — it’s a psychological response. And it can be changed.
Meridian Learning is built by Dr. Jessica, a psychologist with a Ph.D. in Psychology from the University of Maryland and a focus on learning and human development. Every lesson is designed around how adults actually build confidence: incrementally, safely, and through doing rather than watching.
Four pillars. One purpose.
The question is never “how does AI work?” — it’s always “what does this make possible for you, right now?”
Navigate telehealth, manage appointments, handle insurance paperwork, use medication reminders and grocery apps — with confidence and without asking for help.
Recognize AI-generated scams, deepfakes, phishing emails, and political disinformation before they cost you. Protect your finances and your family.
Preserve family stories, organize decades of photos, plan visits, create grandchild activities, and close the generational divide that technology so often widens.
Deepen the interests you already have — history, genealogy, travel, writing — and approach a changing world with curiosity instead of anxiety.
“Confidence with AI doesn’t come before you try it. It comes after.”
The foundation of every Meridian Learning lesson
The Competence Gap
The terrain changed — nobody gave you a new map. Your expertise is real. The domain is just new.
The Trust Gap
Your skepticism about AI is good judgment. We give you a framework for knowing what to trust, question, or ignore.
The Load Gap
Learning something that changes every five minutes, with enormous stakes attached, is a genuinely heavy burden. You’re not being dramatic.
How it works
Most AI education starts with software. Meridian starts with you — your confidence, your concerns, and what matters most in your daily life. Every lesson is designed around how adults actually build confidence: incrementally, safely, and through doing rather than watching.
Begin with free resources — weekly YouTube lessons and companion blog posts — designed to build familiarity on your own schedule, with zero pressure and no jargon.
Follow along with practical, real-life tasks — from navigating telehealth to spotting scams — so confidence comes from experience, not theory. Each lesson is short, clear, and rooted in what actually matters.
Subscribe to the YouTube channel so new lessons arrive every week. Over time, small steps add up — and you’ll realize you’re already more capable than you thought.

Meridian Learning was founded by Dr. Jessica Koehler, who holds a Ph.D. in Psychology from the University of Maryland. With extensive experience teaching educational psychology and human development, she noticed something that bothered her: most AI education is built by technologists, for people who already feel comfortable with technology. That leaves out a vast and underserved group — accomplished, curious, capable adults who deserve better.
Dr. Jessica brings a unique combination of academic expertise and real-world perspective. Her background in educational and psychological research shapes every Meridian lesson, grounded in how people actually learn and build genuine confidence in new domains. She’s also been married to the love of her life for over 25 years and has spent 11 years as a homeschooling mom — experiences that deepened her understanding of how learning works best when it’s personal, patient, and built on trust.
